What reasons can a person draw unemployment if they quit their job?

I quit my job to pursue my doctorate and some entreprenuerial endeavors. However, I would still like to draw unemployment if I can. I was a teacher at a post secondary school and they begen to drop on enrollements which cut my cl size and reduced me to one evening cl. The company also did away with a regional position I was awarded in total it took $2200 a month out of my pocket. I was with this company for over 2 years. Thanks in advance for your help.
