What kinds of people would you describe as priggish?

Is priggish pretty much a synonym for condescending? Also, have you ever heard of the word stertorate? An answerer used it in one of his responses in a prior question of mine and he said it meant to sneeze, but I couldn't find it on dictionary.com, so I was just wondering if he spelled the word wrong.
